Gatewood
Park and Reservoir is 400 scenic acres nestled in the
heart of the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of Southwest
Virginia. Surrounded by the Jefferson National Forest
and located near the Town of Pulaski, Gatewood is accessible
from Interstates 81 and 77 and offers exciting recreational
opportunities for the entire family.
Built as a town water impoundment in 1960, the park
provides visitors with rest and relaxation through
camping, boating, fishing, hiking, picnicking , and
other activities provided by a full time staff.
Owned by the Town of Pulaski, and operated by the Pulaski
Parks and Facilities Department, Gatewood is a well
managed facility with a rustic touch which compliments
its wilderness setting. The park features crystal emerald
water, active wildlife, and the majestic beauty of
surrounding mountain peaks.
