2) Chesapeake Bay

This saltwater fishing spot is perfect for beginners and experienced fishers alike. There are plenty of options to catch striped bass, bluefish, flounder, sea trout and eels.  Chesapeake Bay saltwater fishing season begins in March and runs through January each year so there’s no bad time to get out on the water!

4) Puget Sound

This fishing spot is ideal for saltwater fish because the water here contains less salt than regular ocean water. The best time to saltwater fish in Puget Sound is between May and September, but make sure you check local regulations before getting out on the water.

Puget Sound saltwater fishing locations include Hood Canal Bridge, Edmonds Underwater Park, and Mukilteo.

You may fish for species such as salmon, rockfish, or halibut depending on where you go in Puget Sound!
